IPL 2025 MI vs RCB Highlights: RCB pose a mammoth total at Wankhede with Skipper leading from the front

The Royal Challengers Bangalore came into bat first at the Wakhede Stadium with their most veteran batter Virat Kohli alongside this season’s star in the powerplay Phil Salt who mostly has given momentum to the Challengers innings.
Trent Boult once again picked an early wicket in the powerplay with the new ball dismissing the dangerous-looking Salt. However, Virat Kohli made his intentions clear from the first ball as he attacked the MI bowlers including a hit straight for a six on the very first delivery Bumrah bowled in this IPL.
Kohli completed his 13000 runs in the shortest format of the game and alongside Devdutt Padikkal and skipper Rajat Patidar they took RCB to a huge total of 221. Jitesh Sharma played a stunning hand of 40 runs at the back with a strike rate of over 200, after Pandya picked a double-wicket over dismissing Kohli and Livingstone.
RCB set a huge target of 222 for the Mumbai Indians, while Jasprit Bumrah missed out on a wicket in his comeback game, as he ended with stunning figures of 0/29 in his four overs in the high-scoring game.
IPL 2025 MI vs RCB Highlights: No Luck at Home for Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians have not had a single player in their batting lineup who has set as high standards for themselves in the IPL 2025 to give their fans a hope to chase this big a total. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was brought in as the impact player, and despite an early start, both the MI openers fell early, scoring just 17 runs each.
Will Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav never looked settled with their shots as they kept missing on several occasions and also could not connect for the big ones. Eventually half of the Mumbai Indians batting order was sent back to the dugout after scoring less than half of the target in the match.
Tilak Varma, the youngster who was retired out in the last game owing to his low strike rate, has played a hand to remember for ages for the Mumbai Indians. Alongside skipper Hardik Pandya who almost brought in a stir of momentum to the MI innings from the very first ball he faced, Tilak and Pandya added runs for the 84 runs for the 5th wicket at a strike rate worth a bow.
However, with Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya both back into the dugout having played their part, RCB were now in control of the game with Hazlewood dismissing Pandya when MI needed 28 runs of the last two overs. Eventually Mi lost the game by 12 runs as they lost 5 wickets in the last three overs and RCB created history with a win at the Wankhede Stadium for the first time since 2015.
