TikTok users across Pakistan are currently experiencing widespread disruptions, with many reporting issues related to video loading, slow performance, and malfunctioning features. Despite a growing number of complaints from users nationwide, official authorities have denied any service outage or technical issue.
Numerous user reports from X, Facebook, and Instagram indicate that platform issues began to manifest earlier in the day. Users are unable to utilize the content effectively due to persistent buffering issues with video encoding.
Others say that TikTok Live is not working properly, with users unable to join or host live sessions. Additionally, the app itself has been unusually slow, frequently freezing or lagging while navigating between videos or profiles. The app frequently experiences uncharacteristically lengthy delays when switching between videos or profiles, which party members must contend with.
Numerous TikTok users reported that the technical issue may be the result of internet service providers in Pakistan, particularly PTCL. Indicating that the technical issue may extend beyond TikTok-related issues, numerous users have reported superior outcomes from the application when using alternative networks. TikTok’s functionality is particularly disrupted in Pakistan, according to a few users, due to a regional technology issue.
TikTok and the appropriate government authorities have not issued official statements regarding the pervasive issues that have been reported by users. When inquired, official authorities denied any nationwide disruption and maintained that all services are running normally. This lack of acknowledgment has left users confused, with many taking to social media to voice their concerns and demand answers.
This is not the first time users in Pakistan have faced such unexplained interruptions while using TikTok. Previous slowdowns have coincided with regulatory actions or periods of heightened online activity, although no such context has been confirmed in the current situation.
