IPL 2025 RCB vs RR Match Highlights: The Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals will be heading to the land of Rajputs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium; the crowd will encounter the clash of the two Royals. This will mark the 28th match of the Indian Premier League.
The Royals from Rajasthan have not had the best of starts under their stand-in skipper Riyan Parag, who captained the Royals in the first three games, two of which were played at the Guwahati Stadium. Skipper Samson came in and has led the Royals to a win and a loss in the last two games, while the Royals return to their home ground at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium to gain some momentum for their campaign in the IPL.
The Rajat Patidar-led side has had a confusing campaign, defeating the giants of the game on their land; however, they failed to win both games on their home ground at the Chinnawamy Stadium. The likes of every batter—Salt, Kohli, Patidar, Jitesh, and Tim David—have made significant contributions with the bat, while their bowling has stood tall under several pressure situations.
Currently, the Royal Challengers Bangalore are placed in the 5th position in the points table after their loss against Delhi Capitals in Bangalore, while Rajasthan Royals are in the seventh position with 2 wins in 5 games.

IPL 2025 RCB vs RR Match Highlights: Jaiswal’s return to form not backed by others in the Royals lineup

The Rajasthan Royals, the home side, were sent to bat first, while Samson took command alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal has been silent with the bat; however, he has finally gotten back his groove and is giving some serious threat to the batter’s oppositions. Samson struggled in the powerplay as well and was dismissed just after the powerplay from a ball from Krunal Pandya that was kept too low for the advancing batsman.
Jaiswal continued his onslaught after the powerplay as well, alongside Riyan Parag, who was once again sent up the order; however, the Royals could not get going ever since the dismissal of the young Indian left-hander. The Royals ended their innings for 173 despite just 4 wickets falling.
IPL 2025 RCB vs RR Match Highlights: Salt rubbed on the wounds of the Royals

The Royals’ innings suggested the pitch is not very favourable to bat on, as the ball was expected to keep low and not come nicely onto the bat, thus favouring the RR spinners. However, nothing seemed such for Phil Salt. Salt didn’t let any pressure to mount on Kohli as he battled alone to give RCB a staggering start in the powerplay. Having scored 63 of 33 balls he gave the momentum needed to win.
Virat Kohli next took command and went on to score his 100th half-century in the shortest format of the game, as Kohli’s unbeaten 62 and Padikkal’s 40* helped seal RCB’s fourth consecutive away win for RCB in this season.
