Trump Praises Ohio State Wide Receiver Jeremiah Smith During White House Visit: ‘He May Be The Best Ever’
Donald Trump had high praise for Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith during the Buckeyes’ White House visit to celebrate their national title.
“I shouldn’t say this but the coach was giving Jeremiah some major praise backstage,” Donald Trump revealed. “I said, ‘What’s the future?’ and they said, ‘We have a guy, he may be the best ever.’” Jeremiah Smith earned a long handshake and more admiration from Donald Trump, who added, “Jeremiah was the only freshman that was at a level that few people have ever seen before. Nobody could stop him all year long, even as a freshman.”
The 6’3”, 214-pound receiver from Opa Locka, Florida, backed up the hype, catching 76 passes for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns in his debut season. He ranked fourth in total yardage and tied for second in touchdowns nationally—right behind Heisman winner Travis Hunter. Jeremith Smith’s sophomore season now carries massive expectations.
