West Ham host relegated Southampton in a Premier League encounter at the London Stadium.
Victory will see West Ham climb to 15th in the table, whilst Southampton will remain bottom regardless of the result.
Team News
Aaron Cresswell and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are doubts for West Ham with respective muscle and toe injuries.
Crysencio Summerville (hamstring) and Michail Antonio (leg) remain ruled out.
Southampton will welcome midfielder, Flynn Downes back from suspension, which saw him miss their defeat to Aston Villa last weekend.
Paul Onuachu (ankle) is a doubt but Charlie Taylor (knock) and Albert Gronbæk (tendon) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
West Ham host Southampton at London Stadium on Saturday 19 April at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- West Ham have lost just one of their last 11 league meetings against Southampton (W8, D3, L1).
- Southampton have won one of their last six visits to West Ham (W1, L5).
- The Saints have conceded three goals in four of their last six trips to West Ham.
- No West Ham player this season has produced more crosses than Jarrod Bowen (93).
- Coming into this matchweek, no defender has made more errors which led to a goal this season than Southampton’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis (4)
Prediction
With nothing to play for other than pride for rest of season, West Ham and Graham Potter can afford to experiment with tactics a bit but they did well defensively to make Liverpool work for the win, even though their counter-attacking often lacked a clinical final touch.
Southampton meanwhile did well to keep Villa out in the opening hour of their eventual defeat but two sloppy fouls and a dip in marking proved costly, which shows how weak and vulnerable their defence is so I would like to see them try and shore up the back lines for the rest of the season and try to be more clinical up top.
I however do think that West Ham should just have too much for their visitors here if they can get on top of the Saints’ leaky defence.
Prediction: West Ham 2-0 Southampton
