RCB vs PBKS Match Highlights: Punjab Kings, after their recent win against the Kolkata Knight Riders, headed to the Chinnaswamy, where the home side, RCB, has lost both their previous games this season.
Punjab Kings come from a famous win against KKR, where they went on to defend a low score of 111 runs as they dismantled the KKR batters for just 95 runs, eventually winning the game by 16 runs, the lowest defended score in the history of the IPL.
On the other hand, RCB would look to extend their win further and register their first win at their home venue of the season, having already lost two. Rajat Patidar has been praised for his captaincy, though this would be his chance to give his home crowd an opportunity to cheer for their revolutionary skipper.
Currently placed 3rd and 4th on the points table, respectively, RCB and PBKS found the rain gods not in favour of them at Bangalore. With heavy rain to drizzle, nothing seemed good as the match was interrupted for nearly two hours and began with the overs reduced to 14 for either side. Thanks to the Chinnaswamy Ground staff, who did a stunning job of resuming the game this early after the rain stopped.

RCB vs PBKS Match Highlights: Tim David is the lone warrior for the Royal Challengers at rain-affected Chinnaswamy

Nothing seemed to have gone in favour of skipper Patidar and RCB, as Shreyas Iyer won the toss and immediately chose to bowl first. Patidar and Co. were once again put to bat first at their home venue. Openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli were both dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in his two overs in the powerplay, while Liam Livingstone remained the last wicket to fall in the powerplay. RCB were 23/3 at the end of a 4-over reduced powerplay.
Looking for runs, likes of Jitesh, Krunal, the skipper himself, and impact sub Bhandage all got dismissed in the middle overs to the stunning spells from Yuzi Chahal and Marco Jansen. RCB were 9 down for 63 at the end of the 13th over, with Harpreet Brar’s hat-trick ball defended safely by Hazlewood.
Tim David played a Superman’s incarnation for RCB, single-handedly taking them to 95/9 in their 15 overs with a 26-ball maiden fifty in the IPL. David scored 21 runs in Harpreet Brar’s final over of the innings and gave RCB something to fight for.
RCB vs PBKS Match Highlights: Wadhera dons compliments to head PBKS home in low-scoring thriller

The Punjab Kings came in to chase in a low-scoring game, and though under tough batting conditions, openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh looked to give some early momentum but got out, respectively, after having hit a boundary or two. Punjab Kings batters all scored in double figures except the skipper himself. Josh Hazlewood created chances for RCB with his stunning spell of 3/14 in his quota of 3 overs.
Nehal Wadhera, the PBKS middle-order left-handed batter, came to the rescue of his side. He, just like David, single-handedly took the pressure off scoring stunningly in the overs against Suyash Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. As Stoinis finished the chase with a six, thus handing PBKS, the small total, they chased it with 5 wickets in hand and 11 balls remaining.
