Wycombe Wanderers face Charlton Athletic in an Easter Monday blockbuster in the fight for automatic promotion in League One.
Victory will see Wycombe stay second heading into the final two matchdays of the season, whilst Charlton will stay fourth with a win and will join the race for automatic promotion if Wrexham fail to win elsewhere.
Team News
Wycombe have no fresh injury concerns to report following their victory at Bolton on Good Friday.
Shamal George (groin), Daniel Harvie (knee), Kieran Sadlier (hernia), Fin Back and Bez Lubala (both unspecified) remain absent.
Charlton could again be without Macaulay Gillesphey after a muscle injury forced him to miss the Addicks’ 2-1 home win over Northampton.
Miles Leaburn (squad) remains absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Wycombe host Charlton at Adams Park on Easter Monday 21 April at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Wycombe have won just one of their last five meetings against Charlton (W1, D2, L2).
- Charlton have lost two of their six previous visits to Wycombe (W3, D1, L2).
- Wycombe have kept just one clean sheet at home to Charlton.
- Wycombe have conceded just one goal in their last seven league matches at home (W4, D2, L1), which came in a 1-0 loss to Wrexham in March 2025.
- Tyreece Campbell has scored in each of Charlton’s last two away games (W2).
Prediction
Having dug deep for three clinical victories and clean sheets in their last three outings, Wycombe now have automatic promotion in their own hands so another resilient display is needed if want to put Charlton totally out of contention given that the Addicks are only five points adrift currently.
Charlton though are stronger form across their last five games but this is do-or-die for their automatic promotion chances so it is imperative that they turn up with their best football, and cut out their sloppy first-half defending of the past month if want to give themselves an unlikely late shot at going up without the play-offs.
I therefore am expecting a difficult game that might initially be cagey but as the game opens up, I can see both teams digging in for a point, although Charlton ideally need a win especially with a trip to Wrexham coming up in their penultimate game of the season.
Prediction: Wycombe 1-1 Charlton
