Tottenham take on top-five chasing Nottingham Forest in a huge Premier League clash to round off the Easter weekend.
Victory will lift Tottenham up to 13th in the table, whilst Forest can climb to third with a win.
Team News
James Maddison could sit this match out for Tottenham after he suffered a heavy knock during the second leg victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in UEFA Europa League.
Son Heung-min (foot) could return but Radu Dragusin (ACL) remains absent.
Forest have no fresh injury concerns to report following their defeat to Everton but Ola Aina (calf) and Taiwo Awoniyi (hamstring) are unlikely to be fit for selection.
When is Kick-Off?
Tottenham host Forest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Easter Monday 21 April at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Tottenham have lost just one of their last seven league meetings against Forest (W6, L1).
- Forest have won three of their seven previous Premier League visits to Tottenham (W3, L4), although they’re yet to win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following 3-1 defeats in last two seasons.
- Victory would see Forest claim a first league double over Spurs since 1996-97 season.
- Mathys Tel has scored in Spurs’ last two league matches (W1, L1).
- Forest are looking to avoid suffering three consecutive league defeats for the first time since February – March 2024.
Prediction
Although their eggs are entirely in the Europa League basket after a gutsy clinical win over Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham still need to do well domestically for momentum sake whilst there is local pride at stake because they could still finish as the lowest-ranked London club in the top-flight which would be embarrassing.
Forest meanwhile just failed to really get going against Everton with a lacklustre end product to their counter-attacks which were nullified by the Toffees’ robust defence, so they now need to reset as they have a chance to regain third and put the pressure back on their rivals.
Although they haven’t enjoyed their recent visits to North London in general, this is a huge opportunity for Forest if can rediscover their clinical spark that I expect them to take if can get at Spurs’ vulnerable defence, especially with Tottenham’s focus seemingly elsewhere.
Prediction: Tottenham 1-2 Nottingham Forest
