Celebrities and influencers have been trying durians lately and the reactions are all over the place; some love it, some hate it, and others are just having fun with the experience!
I’d been wanting to try one for months, and luckily, I came across Durian Experience, which offers fresh durians right here in the USA.
Now, when we say “fresh,” it’s as fresh as you can possibly get in the States. That’s because the King of Fruits doesn’t grow in the US. It only grows in specific regions of Southeast Asia. So unless you’re planning to fly halfway around the world, this is your next best chance to enjoy real, fresh durian at home.
What’s available on Durian Experience?
Looking through their sales page, they actually offer a range of unique durian varieties from across Southeast Asia. From popular favorites like Musang King to rarer types like Black Gold and even Kampung durians.

I managed to snag some Musang King durians, which I found out are actually their best seller. If you’re just looking for a solid, guaranteed good durian experience, Musang King is definitely the one to go for.
But if you’re up for a little adventure, I’d recommend trying their Kampung Durian variety. These aren’t grown for commercial purposes, so each pulp has its own unique texture and flavors .No two bites are exactly the same, which makes it a fun surprise every time.
Here’s my review on their Musang King Durian
Taste: Sweet, Slightly Bitter
Texture: Creamy, Soft, Light and Buttery
Smell: Freshly Cut Garlic but In a Nice Way
Similarity: Avocado, Coffee, Chocolate
Their durians come vacuum-sealed and packed in a premium box, ensuring everything stays fresh and well protected. Eating it is super simple, just tear open the packaging like you would with any snack, and you’re ready to dive into the experience!
Overall, it’s a really good durian with well-balanced flavors. We had fun enjoying it two ways. First, the classic way is by letting it thaw and eating it as it’s meant to be, and then trying it frozen, almost like durian ice cream.
Both were equally enjoyable! But if you’re someone who’s a bit sensitive to the strong durian aroma, I’d recommend trying it frozen. It helps tone down the smell and flavor to a milder, more approachable level, while still keeping that authentic, delicious taste.
Would you recommend trying the Durian Experience?
From my previous durian encounters in Asia, I’d definitely recommend Durian Experience’s Musang King if you’re looking for a quick authentic try. It’s just as good as having it fresh in Asia.

They’re also running promotions on their durian bundle sets. Perfect if you’re planning a fun group experience with friends. Prices start at just $98 for the Adventurer Bundle, which includes three different durian varieties. For a full tasting experience, the Complete Bundle offers six different varieties for $180.
Placing an order is quick and hassle-free. With their reliable doorstep delivery service across the US., you can easily order straight from their website: www.durianexperience.com.
