Coventry City missed an opportunity at home on Friday against Sunderland and will need an improved second leg performance to keep their season alive.
Haji Wright and his Sky Blue teammates travel to face the Black Cats, trailing 2-1 on aggregate in their two-legged series. The U.S. men’s national team forward started and played the full 90 minutes in the first leg, however struggled to create many opportunities. Wright failed to register a shot on target and lost the most duels of any player in the match (9).
The 27-year-old led Coventry City with 12 goals during the regular season and will be expected to rebound as Frank Lampard’s squad aim to reach the promotion final at Wembley Stadium.
Should Coventry get the job done at the Stadium of Light, they will meet either Sheffield United or Bristol City for a spot in the English Premier League next season.
In Italy, Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah will both aim to start in AC Milan’s Coppa Italia Final showdown with Bologna.
