Apple Discontinues the iPhone SE, iPhone 14 after 16e launch

Apple officially introduced the iPhone 16e on Wednesday, positioning it as a mid-tier device that bridges the gap between older budget models and the current iPhone 16 series.

Apple discontinued the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and the third-generation iPhone SE, leading to significant changes in its product lineup with this launch. 

The removal of these older models simplifies Apple’s offerings while pushing customers toward a more modern and feature-rich entry-level iPhone.

iPhone 16e might be the perfect replacement for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus 

The iPhone 16e mirrors much of the design and functionality of the iPhone 14 but enhances performance and capabilities, presenting itself as an appealing option for users looking to upgrade without opting for the premium iPhone 16.

It boasts a 6.1-inch display, is powered by the A18 processor, and features Apple Intelligence, guaranteeing smooth performance and readiness for future software updates.

Despite these enhancements, certain features available in higher-end models, such as MagSafe and Camera Control, are omitted, likely as a cost-reduction strategy and to distinguish it from flagship models.

The iPhone 16e replaces the iPhone SE as Apple’s most affordable option, with a starting price of $599 for the 128GB model.

Available in black and white, it supports USB-C charging, furthering the transition away from Apple’s proprietary Lightning connector.

Battery life is another notable upgrade, with Apple claiming up to 26 hours of video playback, a significant increase compared to its predecessors.

Photography capabilities have also been refined, with a focus on a single 48MP rear camera.
