Apple might be getting ready to launch the second version of its Vision Pro headset sooner than many expected.
According to a new report, Apple has already started mass production of the Vision Pro 2, with suppliers now scrambling to provide essential parts like display panels, the outer shell, and electronic components.
While it’s unclear if these parts are entirely new or reused from the first model, this sudden rush suggests that Apple is preparing for a release sometime later this year.
The information comes from a Chinese tech site called IT Home, which cites unnamed sources within the supply chain.
Other recent reports support this theory. For example, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicted that the second-generation Vision Pro would arrive between fall 2025 and spring 2026.
However, another source, Wayne Ma from The Information, reports that Apple has sharply reduced production of the current Vision Pro, possibly shifting focus to building the new version instead.
This earlier-than-expected timeline might be possible because the Vision Pro 2 will likely reuse many of the same parts from the first model.
That makes it easier and faster for Apple to update the headset without starting from scratch.
While the new Vision Pro’s outside design may look nearly identical to the current one, some upgrades are expected under the hood.
These could include a faster M5 chip, better hand and eye tracking, improved comfort, and new features tied to Apple’s upcoming AI technology.
There’s also talk about a lower price, making the headset more accessible.
Some rumors even suggest Apple might release new accessories, such as a separate controller or more advanced input tools, although that part still seems uncertain.
Altogether, it looks like Apple aims to improve on the first Vision Pro quickly, offering a more refined and possibly more affordable version much earlier than initially planned.
