Bradford City face punishment over the ugly scenes which temporarily halted the League Two match at Doncaster on Saturday.
As per Telegrah & Argus, the Bantams are set for disciplinary action from the Football Association due to crowd disorder.
The game, which Doncaster won 2-1 to secure promotion, was halted for around four minutes with a group of City fans clashing with police and stewards in an empty corner section next to the home fans after a penalty saved.
As can be seen in the videos below, many police officers rushed over stewards tried to calm the situation down, both home and away fans riled each other up, some objects were thrown.
Referee Ross Joyce paused play to allow police and stewards to restore order. The FA is expected to view the incident seriously, and Bradford could face a fine or other sanctions.
This follows a prior warning to the club after similar crowd issues at Crewe in May 2023, where flares were thrown onto the pitch, also stopping play.
The game ended with Doncaster Rovers winning promotion to League One with a 2-1 win, ending a three-season stay in the fourth tier.
Goals from Rob Street and Billy Sharp made sure that Rovers beat their Yorkshire rivals, who still have a chance of going up on the final day of the season, or face the playoffs.
“The promotions get sweeter and I’m lucky that’s a sixth one,” said Billy Sharp.
“I got sent off a few weeks ago and I let the lads down – I’ve had to sit it out and they didn’t let me down.
“They won the games to get us where we are today and I’ve just been the lucky one to get the opportunity to score.”
“It feels great,” Grant McCann said, per Doncaster Free Press. “I feel a real sense of pride for the city, the fans and everyone that works at the football club. I feel so proud for everyone associated with Doncaster Rovers today.
“It’s been a tough season. There’s been peaks and troughs and times when people have questioned us and we see or hear about all of that. What’s important in any successful team is making sure you stay strong and consistent. And I think it’s testament to everyone how we’ve done it.”
On the game itself, he added: “I knew Billy would score, I really did. He’s been chomping at the bit and been telling me he’d score. And I don’t mean this in a bad way but I don’t know any other player that would have stayed that calm when put through. And that’s what ultimately got us promoted.”
McCann also had ample praise for loan duo Sharman-Lowe and Street: “Ted’s got better with every game and today produced two magnificent saves. I fancied he’d save the penalty and I couldn’t be more happier for him.
“And with Rob I made a point in bringing a player in who I thought would be too good for this division. And the fans have seen that with his goals and his contribution. We’re lucky to have him. When we got the opportunity to bring him here it was a no-brainer for us.
“We did something similar with (Hakeeb) Adelakun last season with the same sort of impact.”
Bradford boss Graham Alexander said: “It is difficult to react right now.
“We have been a little bit of the author of our own downfall today, against a good team with their own aspirations, we did not start poorly and when we conceded a goal, I did not see a substantial head drop from the players.
“Events at half time changed the course of the game but our desire to win remained. The lads still did not give up and fought to the end.”
“We undeniably work hard and fight as a team, but sometimes we have lacked game intelligence and we have to learn from that.
“There are moments in games where we have not been at our best from a mental point of view and we should sometimes have more on the mental side, they work so hard for each other but we can definitely improve.
❤️ “I wish my mum had’ve been there to see that… I feel a real sense of pride for the city, for our fans”

This is how social media users reacted with Bradford City to face punishment over the ugly scenes which halted the match at Doncaster…
@pj_butcher: Love the way the FA love a crackdown at City. We’ve had to have the 1st few rows of the Kop covered & unused for 6 YEARS, as half a dozen lads ran down & hugged Paudie when he scored pitch side. Meanwhile elsewhere, flares in grounds, players hit my missiles…… NOTHING! #bcafc
@Matt_Walker96: In no rush to forget those 10 minutes, concede the penalty, penalty saved, Bradford fans completely lose their heads, they manage to calm down just in time to see Billy Sharp immediately send us to League 1, then all rush off home. Poetry
@_btcV1: Bradford fans started kicking off and crying cos Rovers keeper saved a pen lmao. Conceded a seconded once the game kicked off again 🤣
@Darrenblues90: Oh well relegation could be softer knowing Bradford are fucking it up and there fans have spat there dummies out again 😂😂😂 one second fighting next walking to the exits 🤦😂
@Chell_b: Embarrassing that from the city fans. No need. #bcafc
@Cammybantam95: Fans behaviour as embarrassing as the team #bcafc
