Legia Warsaw meet Chelsea in the first leg of their 2024-25 UEFA Conference League Quarter-Final.
Legia Warsaw needed extra time to get past Molde in the Round of 16, whilst Chelsea edged past Copenhagen to move closer towards the title.
Team News
Legia Warsaw will be without Jan Ziolkowski and Artur Jedrzejczyk due to suspension, although Steve Kapuadi is back from his one-match ban.
Marc Gual and Bartosz Kapustka are doubts due to unspecified injuries.
Chelsea could recall Cole Palmer to the starting line-up after he was rested in their goalless Premier League draw at Brentford.
Wesley Fofana (muscle), Romeo Lavia (fitness), Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension) and Omari Kellyman (hamstring) are still ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Legia Warsaw host Chelsea at Polish Army Stadium on Thursday 10 April at 6:45pm CEST (5:45pm UK Time), live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Legia Warsaw’s first-ever meeting against Chelsea in all UEFA competitions.
- Chelsea are making their first-ever away trip to any Polish opposition in all UEFA competitions.
- Legia have scored first in each of their last five home matches in this season’s edition of this competition (W4, L1).
- Chelsea have kept just one clean sheet in their last five away games in this season’s edition of this competition (W4, L1).
Prediction
With just two defeats in their last eight games in all competitions and Gual in particularly in good form despite being an injury doubt, Legia Warsaw can’t be underestimated at home with clean sheets in three of their last four games at home in this competition.
Chelsea though are still unbeaten in this season’s edition of the competition but after a wasteful goalless draw at Brentford with no composure in their final touches, they really will be eager to bounce back here and start to turn their away rut around with just one win since late December.
I however do think that Legia Warsaw might just have enough quality to snatch a draw if the Blues don’t polish their end product.
Prediction: Legia Warsaw 1-1 Chelsea
