Stock market holiday on April 18, Good Friday holiday: According to the BSE’s holiday schedule, the leading exchanges, NSE (National Stock Exchange of India) and BSE (formerly Bombay Stock Exchange), will be closed on Friday, April 18, for Good Friday. The equities, equity derivative, and SLB segments will also be closed on April 18, the website stated.
Good Friday is a Christian holy day commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. It is observed on the Friday before Easter Sunday, a time of solemn reflection and mourning for many Christians.

Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will also close trading in the morning session as well as the evening session on April 18, 2025, to commemorate Good Friday. Trading on MCX will resume on Monday, April 21.
