Islamabad: Telenor Velocity’s Innovation Challenge 2025 ended, featuring agritech solutions aimed at addressing challenges in Pakistan’s agricultural sector. The competition, which focused on fostering innovation in agriculture through digital technology, brought together several startups tackling key issues within the industry.
Industry professionals, including Fasieh Mehta, Sumera Abbasi, Executive Director at TiE Islamabad, Bilal Abbasi, General Manager of the National Technology Fund, Ignite-MOITT, and Ahsan Maykan, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Digital at Telenor Pakistan, comprised the Innovation Challenge 2025 judges’ panel. The panel evaluated firms in Pakistan on the basis of their potential impact on agriculture, innovation, and scalability.
GrowthTech Services was declared the champion of the evaluation, earning the main prize of PKR 1 million for their agricultural efficiency-enhancing solution. Other finalists included Agrivoice Buddy, Agro AI, and AI Smart Farming, all of which demonstrated a variety of technological innovations that were designed to improve the efficiency, sustainability, and productivity of farming.
Khurrum Ashfaque, the CEO of Telenor Pakistan, commended GrowthTech Services for their accomplishment and acknowledged the contributions of all the finalists. He emphasized the significance of agriculture in Pakistan’s economy and addressed the challenge of enhancing profitability and yields. He also mentioned that the Innovation Challenge 2025 was designed to investigate new technologies, particularly AI-driven solutions, that could contribute to sustainable growth in the sector.
