IPL 2025 MI vs DC Match Highlights: The Mumbai Indians, who have had a disappointing season so far, will star against the Delhi Capitals, the table toppers of IPL 2025, in the home ground of the Capitals.
Mumbai Indians, led by skipper Hardik Pandya, have not performed convincingly well, as they went on to win only one game against the Kolkata Knight Riders on their home ground and have been silent ever since then. Though they have performed well with the bat occasionally, their bowling has been a huge flaw.
The Delhi Capitals, led by Axar Patel, have stepped up to be undefeated in the IPL 2025; all their batters, especially KL Rahul, have been stunning with the bat. On the other hand, the DC bowling unit has been doing a fairly good job with the likes of a great blend between their veteran bowlers like Starc and Kuldeep and the youngsters in Mukesh and Vipraj Nigam, the new leggie who has impressed with his brilliance and knack for picking wickets.

IPL 2025 MI vs DC Match Highlights: Rickelton, Tilak and Naman Dhir star as Mumbai look formidable for the first time

Mumbai Indians once again went for the likes of their most veteran batter, Rohit Sharma, alongside Ryan Rickelton. Rickelton had a wonderful start to their campaign, though Rohit Sharma once again fell early in the powerplay at the end of the 5th over.
Rickelton and SKY went on to attack the batters; however, Rickelton was soon left baffled by Kuldeep Yadav‘s wrong one. Once again a partnership built between SKY and Tilak Varma was broken with SKY dismissed to Kuldeep after scoring a handy 40 runs. Hardik Pandya fell quite early this time in an attempt to hit Vipraj Nigam straight back for a six over his head.
Tilak Varma went on to play another stunning, crucial knock for the Mumbai Indians under pressure as the batter was aided by Naman Dhir, who took over the new role of a finisher from the skipper. Naman Dhir‘s stunning 17-ball 38 gave Mumbai the big score and a target worth defending on this chase-friendly track of the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
IPL 2025 MI vs DC Match Highlights: Karun Nair makes a statement on IPL comeback but Karn dooms his heroics

The Delhi Capitals, for another time, did not have the best of starts, as their young opening batsman, Jake Fraser-McGurk, fell early without troubling the scorers, as he fell for a first-ball golden duck. Abhishek Porel then went on to build a 100+ run partnership alongside Karun Nair who came into bat at no.3 for the Delhi Capitals marking his return to the IPL.
Karun Nair, in his return game, showed how good a touch has he been in domestic cricket. Nair produced a beauty of an inning with a 40-ball 89 run inning that literally took the game away from the Mumbai Indians and thrilled them totally. Nair was denied his comeback hundred with an absolute jaffa aimed at his stumps by Mitchell Santner.
The skipper Axar Patel came in to bat alongside KL Rahul as he immediately launched the attack on the MI bowlers, launching an assault on Santner in the very next ball that followed the wicket of Karun Nair. The likes of Bumrah and skipper Pandya also failed to resist the brute attacking force from the Capitals batters, as despite wickets kept falling, Delhi, even for once, never looked out of the game owing to Nair’s stunning innings at first and KL Rahul’s reliability towards the death overs.
However, it was after KL Rahul’s huge wicket picked by Karn Sharma in the final over of his spell that huge hopes were given for the Mumbai Indians, as they started eyeing a comeback.
Eventually, the Delhi Capitals’ winning streak was ended by a series of hat-tricks of run-outs in the 19th over of the game by the Mumbai Indians unit. The Mi team shocked all with this amazing team effort.
