Khiara Keating has been recalled to England’s squad for UEFA Women’s Nations League games against Belgium.
Keating’s return comes after she was dropped for the last three international windows but she faces tough competition for a starting spot, with Mary Earps, Hannah Hampton and Anna Moorhouse retaining their places in the goalkeeping selection.
Brighton & Hove Albion’s Maisie Symonds has earned her first senior international call-up due to Leicester’s Ruby Mace having suffered a knee injury.
Symonds’ fellow Seagull, Fran Kirby is also back in the team in place of Manchester City’s Laura Blindkilde Brown, whilst Nikita Parris has retained her spot in the forward selection.
With Lotte Wubben-Moy still sidelined due to injury, Lucy Parker has been retained in the squad after coming in as the Arsenal’s defender replacement in last month’s selection.
Jess Naz misses out up front as Chloe Kelly is recalled after she had been a late replacement in February’s squad for her Arsenal teammate, Beth Mead.
Manager, Sarina Wiegman isn’t resting on her laurels after a solid start to their UEFA Women’s Nations League campaign, as she warned that there is still room for improvement ahead of this summer’s UEFA Women’s Euro title defence.
“We have a lot we want to achieve in the Nations League and although we are satisfied with our start in the group, there’s much more work to be done to improve our game.”
England host Belgium at Ashton Gate, Bristol, on Friday 4 April at 8pm BST live on ITV1 in the UK.
Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses then visit the Belgian Red Devils in the reverse fixture on Tuesday 8 April at Den Dreef, Leuven, in a 8:30pm CEST (7:30pm UK Time) kick-off, live on an unannounced ITV channel in the UK.
