Kelli Baker’s story is one of persistence, self-discovery, and artistic authenticity. With a voice that cuts through the noise and lyrics that speak to the soul, she is poised to leave a lasting mark on the blues-rock scene. I last spoke with the blues-rock musician in August 2024.
As Kelli said in that first interview, “It just depends on what you’re listening to. There’s something for every emotion you have. You can always find a song that gives you what you’re looking for. For instance, if you’re angry and want to lay in the dark, there’s a song for that. There’s a song for everybody. That’s what’s beautiful about it. It’s a connection between the artist and the listener, whether the artist realizes it or not. Once you create something and put it out there, it’s kind of out of your hands.”
I wanted to reconnect with Kelli to see what keeps her inspired—not only for herself but also for her fans. I was curious—what’s been on her mind, and what’s next?
She shared this in May 2025, with Social Lifestyle Magazine:
“We’ve had a triumphant year. We opened for Ally Venable, returned to the Paxico Blues Festival with a standout show, met incredible people all over the country, and even sold a car to buy a tour van. We recorded our new EP, Granite, and opened for blues icon Mike Zito for a month in Florida.
Kelli also said, “Noé Socha, my guitarist, and I have been writing a lot. We have some big news around all of this that I can’t share just yet, but mark my words—2025 is the year we take it to the next level.”
Baker recently performed in New Jersey. She shared, “This will be our first time at Lizzie Rose, and we’ve heard nothing but fantastic things about this room. We’re really looking forward to this show in such an iconic listening space.”
When asked if there’s a favorite unreleased track she’s excited to share, Baker didn’t hesitate:
“For me, it would be Granite (The Badlands). I wrote this song in about five minutes (the best ones come to me this way) about my father’s death. Noé really helped me bring it to life. My father’s alter ego was a private investigator named ‘Luke Granite’—we used to do video skits about it. He was something else.”
Kelli also brings a deep emotional intensity to every performance. She explained:
“Every performance is different. It’s all structured in emotion, power, and vulnerability. Between all of us—my band members—something always happens. We’re not just playing. We’re creating, transforming, bending. The show goes where it needs to go.”
Thinking about catching a live Kelli Baker show? Run—don’t walk—to the nearest city for an unforgettable experience: a living, breathing connection between her and everyone who listens. With raw emotion, fearless storytelling, and a relentless drive to evolve, Baker not only honors the roots of blues but pushes the genre forward in bold, personal ways. Whether on stage, in the studio, or behind the wheel of a tour van, she’s proving that true artistry comes from staying honest, staying inspired, and staying the course.
