Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson recently came together to celebrate a major milestone for Tristan’s younger brother, Amari Thompson. The family threw a birthday party in honor of Amari turning 18, and the moment was featured on a recent episode of The Kardashians.

Amari, who has with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, has faced serious health challenges over the years. His birthday was not only a celebration of life but also a reflection of how far he’s come.
“Amari turning 18 is a huge milestone for him. It’s a huge accomplishment, and every day we have with him is a blessing,” Kardashian said during a confessional.
She continued, “When you meet someone that’s so wonderful and then something so terrible happens to them, you do want to help. You do want to fix it and be there as much as you can. I think my mom feels the exact same way. She has such a connection to Amari, and so to not be able to do much, it is really hard.”
During the celebration, Amari experienced a seizure—something that has become a regular part of his daily life.
“When Amari’s having a seizure, I know how to stay calm,” khloe stated. “I’m around Amari a lot. I’ve seen a lot of seizures, he has multiple seizures a day. I know what to do in these situations, but someone who hasn’t been exposed to that and hasn’t seen that, it can be very scary, and it’s a very helpless feeling.”
She also talked about how her children with Tristan—True, 6, and Tatum, 2—have grown close to their uncle.
“I do think it’s important for our kids and everyone’s kids to be exposed to all different types of people,” she added.
Tristan Thompson was granted custody of his younger brother last year after his mother died suddenly of a reported heart attack in Toronto, Canada.. Court documents at the time stated that it was not in Amari’s best interest to return to Canada or reunite with his biological father due to “neglect” and “abandonment” under California law.
