KKR vs PBKS Match Highlights: The Kolkata Knight Riders, the defending champions, have travelled to the home stadium of the Punjab Kings at Mullanpur to star in their seventh game of the season. PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer faced his old opposition after having led them to a title win in the last season.
The Kolkata Knight Riders, coming into the away game, have won 3 games while losing 3 as well, and a win now can help them take a huge leap forward in the points table, as they can advance to the second position in the points table with a win, as it would lead them to 8 points in seven league games, drawing similarity to LSG.
On the other hand, the Punjab Kings are also yet searching for a win, after their loss in the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where the loss was totally surprising for the PBKS team. Having won 3 of their 5 games as of now, the Kings are in the hunt to advance further in the points table.

KKR vs PBKS Match Highlights: Another stellar show put on by the Knight Riders bowlers

The Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first on their home ground, as the Mullanpur conditions are not bad to bat on. Considering the difficulty of chasing Shreyas, alongside the team management, they might have made such decisions in their favor.
However, the Punjab Kings did not find everything as planned by them. The openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh once again had the best of starts to their innings, smashing the bowlers for a bunch of runs. However, the partnership was broken for 39 runs when Harshit Rana dismissed the left-handed centurion of the season at the boundary.
Wickets have fallen like a sandcastle since then, as Skipper Shreyas Iyer was also dismissed in the same ball just after one ball. Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine carried on the onslaught as they rattled the PBKS middle order, picking up 5 wickets between them in the innings, which included the big ones of Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Shegde and more.
None of the players could stand a partnership worth taking the team total to a respectable total, as they were bowled out for just 111 runs with 27 balls remaining in the innings. This was PBKS’s most disappointing performance this season.
KKR vs PBKS Match Highlights: Good and good enough, PBKS bowlers defend the lowest ever score in IPL history

Punjab Kings bowlers came in to defend the lowest score of the season after CSK, as the skipper made some surprising choices with the new ball as well. Despite the low total, the PBKS team were not looking to leave it easily.
Marco Jansen took the new ball and picked a wicket in the very first over, that of the dangerous-looking Sunil Narine. Bartlett, in his very first over, also picked up the big wicket of Quinton de Kock and gave his team joy in the powerplay. After this, the KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane and youngster Raghuvanshi batted well to take Knight Riders to a very easy win in the game.
Yuzvendra Chahal, India’s own leg-spin grandmaster, delivered his return to form with his finest-ever figures in the IPL. He dismissed Rahane and was followed by Raghuvanshi’s wicket in his second over. Maxwell also did not retreat his skills, as he dismissed KKR’s most costly player. Chahal came back in his 3rd over to give a serious chance to the Kings, as he tricked the likes of Rinku and Ramandeep Singh, nearing another hat-trick in the IPL against the same opposition, KKR.
Andre Russell could then manifest a special 16-run over against Yuzi Chahal; however, there was no relief for KKR as Vaibhav Arora got dismissed in a wicket maiden to Arshdeep Singh while Marco Jansen lined up his death bowling experience to dismiss Harshit Rana and Andre Russell to help PBKS secure the lowest score in the history of the game.
