After a 15-month hiatus, British pop powerhouse Mae Muller ushers in a refreshingly honest and bold new era today (March 21st) with the unveiling of her brand new single ‘Breakaway’.
Written by Mae, and produced by Henrik Michelsen (Maisie Peters), the self-assured track finds the ‘Better Days’ singer at her most vulnerable, leaving the past behind and embracing new beginnings, as she explores themes of love and loss to produce a truly relatable pop masterpiece.

Commenting on the introspective track, Mae says: “I wrote ‘Breakaway’ in a time when I felt quite lost as an artist, I was putting so much pressure on myself with my newfound independence, that after a while I just decided to get in the studio and pour everything out and whatever I ended up with, at least it would be a weight off my chest.”
“That was the 13th June last year and has ended up being one of my favourite songs that I’ve ever written and the start to this new era. It’s about navigating vulnerability, but also finding my power within it, whilst not losing the joy along the way.”

Returning to planet pop with a fresh new perspective, Mae’s latest material is the result of her growth and introspection over the past year as she navigates life as a recently independent artist.
It is a sound that is uniquely Mae Muller, taking listeners on a journey through the highs and lows of the past several years, from heartbreak and rejection to her trademark bad bitch energy.
Mae’s distinctive vision is encapsulated in this thrilling new age, complete with moments of joyful frivolity, unreserved honesty, and witty sass.
