When the recently expanded Michelin Guide Florida list was announced last week at the Four Seasons Orlando at the Walt Disney World Resort, it welcomed one newcomer in Fort Lauderdale to the list with a star—Chef’s Counter at MAASS—and added the recently opened Daniel’s, A Florida Steakhouse to its Recommended Restaurants List.
“Florida has proven to be an international culinary destination, with the expansion to three new cities and five restaurants being welcomed into the Michelin Star family in this year’s selection,” said Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guides. “Our anonymous inspectors continue to be delighted by Florida’s culinary community, and we congratulate all of the chefs and restaurants being honored in this year’s selection.”
Also new to this year’s destinations were The Palm Beaches and St. Pete-Clearwater. In Miami, two new Green Stars—awarded to restaurants in recognition of their efforts in sustainable gastronomy—were given to EntreNous and Stubborn Seed.
Recognized globally for excellence and quality, the Michelin Guide offers a selection of world-class restaurants. The famous one, two and three Michelin stars identify restaurants serving exceptional cuisine rich in flavor, remarkably executed and infused with the personality of a talented chef.
