Small sonics-senders

So, what do the devices actually look like?
The headphones themselves sport a sleek, modern design with an over-ear fit, adjustable headband, and soft ear cushions for that added comfort.
They fold up neatly too, which is handy for storage or travel. The colorway is entirely black.
The on-ear controls are placed conveniently on the right earcup, allowing you to manage volume, playback, and even take calls without having to fumble for your phone. The USB-C charging port is located here too.
The StreamPort Audio Transmitter is a compact, minimalist box (again, in black) that connects directly to your TV’s audio output.
It’s small enough to be discreet but powerful enough to wirelessly stream audio without lag. Perfect for late-night viewing without waking the house up!
It has controls up front for powering on and off, toggling BT mode, and switching between streaming modes. There is also a screen displaying the current configuration, and a large play/pause button with a blue ring light around it.
Round the back of the transmitter is a USB-C input for power, 3.5mm input, two optical ports, and a 3.5mm output.
Now, does it actually perform as well as it looks?
Get that sound in surround!

I have to say, using the Mixx StreamQ Bundle is as easy as it gets. Let’s start with the headphones.
First off, they sound great. The Dynamic 3D Surround Sound gives you a deep, immersive experience whether you’re watching a film, listening to music, or gaming. The Voice Mode is particularly useful for dialogue-heavy content—no more rewinding because you missed a line!
It is of note that the 3D soundstage is accurate, with effects whizzing around over your shoulders and the back of your head. This is especially fun if you’re watching action-heavy content.
The on-ear controls make operation super simple. Adjusting volume, pausing, or switching between the preset EQ modes (Voice, Cinema, and Music) is seamless. Also, the built-in mic means you can take calls without any fuss.
Battery life is solid too—up to 20 hours on a single charge, which means you can binge-watch an entire series without running out of juice.
Then there’s the StreamPort Transmitter. This little box is an absolute gem for adding wireless connectivity to your setup.

It’s got both a Receive Mode (RX) for streaming music from your phone to your home speakers and a Transmit Mode (TX) that allows you to send your TV’s audio to up to two sets of headphones.
Perfect if you and your partner want to watch something without disturbing anyone else in the house.
There’s also Bypass Mode, which means you can pass audio through to your sound system while still transmitting to wireless headphones. Handy if you want flexibility in how you listen.
In terms of sound quality, the headphones offer a solid performance, and one which pairs well with movie and TV sound effects.
Explosions are deep and booming, while atmospheric top-end strings are bright and don’t cause fatigue during use. Vocal interludes in the mid-range are clear and present without being overbearing.
A nice little setup!
Keeping the moaning to a minimum

I really like this bundle, but there are a couple of minor things worth mentioning.
First, the StreamPort’s initial setup takes a little getting used to when toggling the correct mode and pairing with devices that aren’t the bundled cans.
If you’re not familiar with pairing Bluetooth audio devices, you might need to refer to the manual to get things connected properly. Once it’s set up, though, it works like a charm.
Secondly, while the headphones are super comfortable, they can get a bit warm after long listening sessions. Not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind if you’re planning on wearing them for hours on end.
In general, though, this is a solid piece of kit and for people with limited space it offers an awesome way to get the surround sound effects without the need for expensive and room-devouring 5.1 speaker systems.
