Podcast hosts and influencers Hallie Stephens Drake and Katie Krause Mork have gone from recording during nap time to lighting up Times Square—literally. Readers of Social Lifestyle Magazine may remember that season one of Between Us Moms was a wild ride filled with baby gear, real talk, and the chaos of learning as they went. Now in season two, they’re each juggling two kids and still showing up to share the raw, real, and relatable side of motherhood—proving that mom life is better when it’s shared.
It’s a privilege to reconnect with Hallie and Katie, whom I first met at the beginning of their podcast journey. I’m honored to once again feature these two inspiring mommas and share their insights with our readers at Social Lifestyle Magazine:
Meghan Forte: Looking back from season one to season two of Between Us Moms, have you noticed any personal growth or changes in how you view things compared to when you first started?
Hallie Stephens Drake: Absolutely. Looking back, season one feels like a blur. When we started the show in February 2024, I was navigating toddler life, IVF, pregnancy, a cross-country move, new friendships, bi-monthly work travel to Los Angeles, and so much more. Now that we have entered season two, it feels like the dust has settled. We have found our stride, both on the podcast and in motherhood (though it’s an ever-evolving journey). As we continue to grow the show and speak candidly about our own experiences in motherhood, I am continuously made more aware of the universal truths we share as women and the incredible, unwavering resilience of moms everywhere. As we always say on the podcast, motherhood is a sisterhood, and now more than ever, I feel the calling to connect with my mama sisters and help other women feel less alone.
Katie Krause Mork: Oh man, yes yes yes! When we started the podcast, we were still learning and both only had one kiddo. Looking back, I am amazed we were able to get it off the ground and stay consistent with it – but I am so proud of us and so grateful for the partnership and friendship we’ve had in this endeavor. I feel like we have found our voice and found what works for us in terms of topics and conversation every week. We skewed heavily on the pop culture aspect early on but now are focused much more on our personal motherhood and parenting stories – and we’re lucky enough to have celebrity mamas come on and share their journeys… and that has become more so the pop culture portion of the podcast. It really is a safe space for them to share and for all mamas to feel seen and heard! I am now raising 2 under 2 and I feel so blessed to have this community that allows me to share my stories so candidly – and I feel honored to hear from other mama listeners about their triumphs and tribulations in parenting and so happy that I get to continue interviewing mamas and that they trust us so deeply to tell their stories, because it fills a small hole of a career I once had doing just that professionally day in and day out. I am starting to re-find my identity and the podcast is such a huge part of that. I am reminded often how special motherhood is and how incredible mothers everywhere are.
Meghan Forte: I believe you both now have two kids—congratulations! How has the transition from one child to two changed things for you?
Hallie Stephens Drake: It has changed every cell in my body for the better. It has expanded my heart in ways I couldn’t have imagined. It has forced new focus, perspective, patience, and priorities. I am anew. I am bone-deep in love and exhaustion. I cry more, laugh more, feel more. But it’s the love that takes me off guard the most—the ferocity, the intensity. It is pure chaos. It is pure magic. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Katie Krause Mork: It has changed me, tested me and challenged me in ways I never could have known. It’s broken me open. It’s beautiful and magical but also sometimes frustrating and lonely. I feel constantly split in two but more whole than ever before. My heart is bigger and my patience is stronger! All that to say, I am exhausted beyond belief and some days are harder than others, but I am amazed every damn day by my girls and at the life my husband and I created. I am sorry if I am sounding repetitive – my brain is scrambled eggs! Ha!
Meghan Forte: You recently had a billboard in NYC—amazing! How has the podcast’s growth been an exciting journey for both of you?
Hallie Stephens Drake: We did! Just shy of our one-year anniversary, Amazon Music featured Between Us Moms on their billboard on the corner of 47th and 7th, smack dab in the middle of Times Square. When they told us the news, Katie and I packed our bags and flew out to NYC to see it in person (honestly, we had to confirm it was real and not just a crazy dream we were having). Let me tell you, it was real, and it was confirmation that what we are doing matters. We have put our heart and soul into the podcast. It has been long hours, late nights, some wins, and many losses. But through it all, we’ve never wavered. I’m so proud of us, and there’s no one I’d rather celebrate the wins with than Katie.
Katie Krause Mork: Yayayaya! Right as our podcast was about to turn ONE, Amazon Music featured our show on their billboard and it will forever be one of the coolest moments and milestones ever. We’re so grateful to Amazon Music for championing and believing in Between Us Moms. Hallie and I do everything on our own – from editing the show and booking our guests to producing and editing our video clips for social media. We felt like this was such a victory and made all the blood, sweat and tears worth it. We work so hard at this and it’s rewarding to see that it’s resonating.
Meghan Forte: What are some topics you’re looking forward to exploring in season two?
Hallie Stephens Drake: We are down to talk about it all. Nothing is off-limits. From pooping while giving birth to postpartum depression and all the experiences mothers share in between, we want to cover it all and continue to create a space free from judgment and shame. We are committed to uniting women and to revealing the power that comes from being brave enough to share your lived experiences with others. In a world fixated on the idea of perfection, we aim to break free from that, to remind women that not only are they enough, they aren’t alone.
Katie Krause Mork: Everything and anything! There is so much to discuss when it comes to raising two kiddos, postpartum, marriage, friendship, being a woman and everything in between. We aim for our show to be judgment free and to share our truth and other women’s truths! We want everyone to feel less alone and often look for topics and stories to share that feel relevant and that we know others will be able to relate to.
Meghan Forte: Do you have any exciting new goals for the future of Between Us Moms?
Hallie Stephens Drake: Katie and I are dreamers, so naturally, we have big goals for the podcast. Our bread and butter is TV, so we’ve discussed ways to develop a show around the pod. We would love to host backyard concerts with some big-name bands to raise money for organizations that aid mothers. But more than anything, we want to reach as many women as possible and continue to talk about the things that many moms are afraid to say out loud. If we can continue to do that and expand our reach, our hearts will feel full. So, if you are already a listener of the pod, we love you. And if you’re new, thank you for being here. We’re blessed to have you.
Katie Krause Mork: SO MANY. We are always sharing our big dreams with each other. The other day I told Hallie I would love to host backyard concerts a couple times a year with 100% of the proceeds going to organizations that help mamas like Baby2Baby or She Is Hope. It would be like a picnic and concert under the stars with cool musicians, yummy food, fireplaces roaring, s’mores cooking, twinkle lights glowing, kiddos running around, parents hanging and dancing to the good entertainment. We will see if we can make it happen! Would also love to do the same thing but an event for mamas only – fun lunches and events that celebrate mothers while raising money for a good cause. And if we’re really thinking big, TV. That’s our background and I think with the current state of the world – it would be nice to have a show out there that was just moms talking about the exact topics we do. A loving space to share ideas, debate, laugh, cry and beyond. The last thing I want to say is I am so grateful for YOUR support in writing this article and sharing our story – and of course for all the friends and listeners of the pod! Our hearts are full. I love doing this with Hallie and am so thankful for her. Motherhood is a sisterhood.
As Between Us Moms continues to positively strike a chord with listeners, Hallie and Katie are doing more than just talking—they’re building a movement. One of honesty, connection, and community. With every episode, they show us what’s possible when moms lift each other up. And if the past is any indication, the future is bright. Thank you, Katie and Hallie, for your kindness, for supporting the motherhood community, and for your time with Social Lifestyle Magazine.
