Mariah Carey may be a Grammy-winning music icon, but to her teenage son, she’s just mom.
On April 3, the “We Belong Together” singer made a surprise appeared on her 13-year-old son Moroccan’s Twitch livestream — and his reaction was priceless!
Joined by her daughter Monroe and the family dogs, Carey casually walked into her son’s room during the live broadcast. While Rocky (as he’s affectionately known) had initially asked if she wanted to say hi to his viewers, he quickly seemed to regret the invitation.
“OK, y’all need to get out now. Just everybody get out. Mom, they can see you,” the teen told his famous mom as the chat lit up with excitement.
Fans in the stream couldn’t contain their enthusiasm. “They’re saying, ‘Hi Mariah, I love you,’” Rocky exclaimed, clearly flustered as Carey offered a cheerful, “Hi guys, I love you too!”
Even as her son tried to usher her and Monroe out, his friends in the background enthusiastically chimed in with, “Hi, Mrs. Carey!”
Mariah, ever the good sport, smiled through the moment — clearly enjoying her role as a playful parent.
Carey shares twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-husband Nick Cannon. The former couple married in 2008, separated in 2014, and finalized their divorce in 2016. Since then, Cannon has gone on to welcome a total of 12 children with six women — with Rocky and Monroe being his eldest.
In April 2023, Cannon opened up about parenting then-12-year-olds Moroccan and Monroe during an appearance on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast. He praised the twins, calling them “so intelligent” and “in tune with their own values.”

“It’s my first time having 12-year-olds, and I have a set of them! And we’re having real conversations,” Nick continued. “Because, you know, their lives are far from normal. Their mom is one of the biggest entertainers to ever live and their dad is me.”
