These days, we’re seeing more retired and veteran players leagues than the usual professional T20 tournaments around the world. We’re not complaining because these leagues are super entertaining. And one of the latest to join the fray was MPMSC Asian Legends League T20, which had its debut season taking place in March 2025.
It gets its name because of sponsorship reasons, backed by Madan Paliwal Miraj Sports Centre, and all games of the ALL T20 2025 season taking place at the Miraj International Cricket Stadium, Udaipur. The five participating teams include Indian Royals, Asian Stars, Sri Lankan Lions, Afghanistan Pathans, and Bangladesh Tigers.
The Asian Legends League winners were first crowned on 18th March 2025, after the inaugural season’s final took place between Asian Stars and Indian Royals. These two were the most deserving teams to make the finals, as they finished on top of the ALL T20 2025 points table as well. Unfortunately, Bangladesh Tigers didn’t get clearance at the last moment from their board and had to pull out before the season began.

Former Afghanistan captain Asghar Afghan had a super successful season despite not making the final. He scored 206 runs in only 4 games in the tournament, ending as the top scorer before the final, with 3 fifties in his 4 innings played. In terms of Asian Legends League centuries, three of them got to the milestone during the series – Mehran Khan, Shoaib Khan, and Thisara Perera.

The tournament was actually lit up even further by Perera’s century because he got there in a record number of deliveries and in the final over, he smashed 6 sixes including 3 wide deliveries from the bowler, accumulating in a record over of 39 runs. With the ball, Vikum Sanjaya got 14 wickets in 5 games and no one could touch him on the top bowlers charts.
