MI vs LSG Match Highlights: The Lucknow Super Giants and the Mumbai Indians are playing their fourth match of the season at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, where LSG lost their last game to the Punjab Kings.
The Lucknow Super Giants, under their new skipper Rishabh Pant, who is himself searching for form, have not performed very well, starting their season with a close loss to the Delhi Capitals, while they backed themselves with a win against the high-scoring SRH side. However, their first home match of the season did not go in their favor.
On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions, continue with their disastrous run in the IPL from the last season, where they finished at the end of the points table. MI started the season with a loss against arch-rivals CSK, while skipper Pandya returned to lead Mumbai to a loss against his former side Gujarat Titans and a win against KKR on their home ground at the Wankhede Stadium.

MI vs LSG Match Highlights: LSG score 200+ as Openers run show on home ground

The MI skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field at the low-scoring Ekana track; however, LSG openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram had something else on their minds.
Marsh arrived threatening the MI bowlers as he charged down the track to hit Boult, Deepak Chahar and last match’s Player of the Match Ashwani Kumar, hitting them for 69 runs in the powerplay. Marsh’s 60 off just 31 balls gave LSG the start they needed, and since then, despite MI bowlers trying their best to recover in the middle overs as skipper Pandya picked wickets in his back-to-back overs, Aiden Markram held the balance of the Lucknow innings.
Some vital down-the-cameos from Ayush Badoni and David Miller made LSG the second team to score 200 runs at the Ekana Stadium. However, Hardik Pandya remained the highlight of the innings with his first 5-wicket haul in the IPL.
MI vs LSG Match Highlights: SKY storm silenced as LSG bowlers dominate in the death overs

The Mumbai Indians, who have not had the best performances from their batting order, had to chase a huge 204 on the slow track of Ekana, which is very tough to bat on. MI considered a new opening pair of Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton after Rohit Sharma was rested for the match. However, like every other game, the MI batters failed again, and they were reduced to 17/2 before the end of 3 overs of the powerplay.
The new experimental no.3 Naman Dhir was sent ahead of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, and he proved what he is capable of. Naman brought out his long levers as he gave momentum to the MI innings, taking Akash Deep’s second over in the powerplay for 21 runs. Dhir and SKY scored vital runs for Mumbai Indians before the strategic timeout again caused a turning point in the game as Digvesh Rathi picked the vital wicket of the dangerous-looking Naman Dhir.
Suryakumar Yadav made every attempt to counter the LSG bowlers strategy, who did not offer him any pace or any line around the middle or leg stump. SKY played an invaluable innings of 67 runs before being dismissed in the most disappointing fashion by Avesh Khan in the 17th over of the game. Skipper Pandya took the field with 52 runs needed for Mumbai.
Tilak Varma failed to connect on multiple occasions and was retired hurt to bring Santner on the field, as Hardik Pandya, despite attempts, failed to connect on several occasions. Mumbai lost the match by a big margin of 12 runs.
