Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) market has welcomed a new entrant with the launch of the BAW Brumby, a compact electric hatchback introduced by Ramza. Originally manufactured by Beijing Auto Works (BAW), the Brumby is designed to offer an affordable and efficient commuting solution for urban residents and small families.
The five-door hatchback comes with seating for four passengers and compact dimensions, making it well-suited for navigating congested city roads. The BAW Brumby vehicle dimensions are as follows: 3,532 millimeters in length, 1,498 millimeters in width, and 1,605 millimeters in height. Its wheelbase is 2,275 millimeters. The vehicle’s traction performance and stability are enhanced by the 1,290 mm track bases that are dispersed between the front and rear areas.
The system of the BAW Brumby is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous (PMS) motor, which is capable of producing a maximal power output of 25 kW while maintaining a rated power of 15 kW. The EV can achieve velocities of up to 100 km/h and has a company-claimed range of 220 km with a single charge.
The Brumby operates with a 15.12 kWh capacity Lithium Iron Phosphate battery which functions at 112V rated voltage to maximise energy efficiency. Unlike other vehicles this model shows good efficiency inside both urban areas and across state territories.
The Brumby achieves stability performance alongside comfort through its McPherson independent front suspension which works alongside a three-link non-independent rear suspension. The rear-wheel drive system on this vehicle uses front disc brakes together with rear drum brakes to provide improved control particularly in urban driving conditions.
