Actor Nicky Katt, known for his many roles in films like Dazed and Confused and Boiler Room, has died aged 54, according to multiple US reports.
Multiple sources, including Deadline and The Wrap, have confirmed the news with John Sloss, the founder and partner of Sloss Law, the firm that the actor had hired for legal representation.

The cause of death has not been shared at this time.
The veteran actor is known for his reputation of playing interesting characters, with his most renowned role being that of the high school bully Clint Bruno who picks a fight with Adam Goldberg’s character Mike Newhouse in Rick Linklater’s 1993 film Dazed and Confused.
Katt worked with acclaimed directors like Linklater, Steven Soderbergh, Christopher Nolan, Robert Rodriguez and David Gordon Green on multiple occasions each, cementing his reputation.

Other notable works of the actor’s include The Limey, Full Frontal, School of Rock, Insomnia, Behind the Candelabra, and in TV he was known for his role in Boston Public.
His last role listed on IMDb was in 2018 in an episode the Hulu comedy series Casual.
Many paid tribute to the star’s career on social media.

Deadline called him “an Actor’s actor”, while Flynn Picture Company CEO Beau Flynn wrote, “Heartbroken to learn about the way too early passing of the seriously talented actor #NickyKatt – God bless you my friend … What a privilege to know you and work with you on my first movie in 1995 – ‘johns.’ Rest in peace brother.”
Fans also mourned the actor, with one writing, “A prolific character actor with roles in The Dark Knight, Insomnia, Dazed and Confused, and A Time To Kill, Nicky Katt frequently stole the show with limited screen time. RIP to the guy who always showed up in some of the most iconic movies.”
Another shared, “R.I.P Nicky Katt. As indie as it gets, great character actor and still part of so many movies that have an everlasting legacy.”
