Lahore: The Punjab government has officially launched the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025, offering 110,000 advanced laptops to high-achieving students. After months of anticipation, the Higher Education Department (HED) has opened online registrations, allowing eligible students to apply through its official website.
Additionally, 2,000 laptops are designated for minority pupils as part of the initiative. Students who have accomplished their matriculation or intermediate education are eligible to participate in the program.
The laptop scheme was announced by Provincial Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, who stated that the Chief Minister of Punjab would provide 110,000 pupils with the most recent iteration of laptops as part of this initiative.
Generation 13 Core i7 laptops will be distributed to students, according to the Education Minister. The Punjab Higher Education Department’s website contains all pertinent information, including the official link for online applications.
Within a few hours of the portal’s inauguration, more than 34,000 students had already registered, according to Rana Sikandar Hayat.
Eligibility Criteria
The aim of the initiative is to provide 110,000 students in a variety of academic disciplines with the most recent-generation laptops, which include Core i7 devices. BS students, including those from secondary and higher secondary levels, are eligible to participate in this initiative. Furthermore, minority pupils will receive 2,000 laptops. The required qualifications include:
- The applicant must be enrolled in the first or second semester of a Bachelor’s degree program at a public sector university or college.
- A minimum of 65% marks in intermediate are required for public sector universities and colleges.
- A minimum of 80% marks in intermediate are required for medical and dental colleges.
- Students must be residents of any district in Punjab and must not have received a laptop from any previous government scheme.
Laptop Distribution Breakdown
- 20,000 university students
- 14,000 college students
- 4,000 technical and agricultural college students
- 2,000 medical and dental students
- 32% of recipients will be from South Punjab
Students who are interested in enrolling may do so by accessing the official website at cmlaptophed.punjab.gov.pk and submitting their information online.
The distribution of laptops is expected to begin after Ramadan 2025, with the first shipments already arriving in Pakistan. As part of the Honhaar scholarship program, the laptops will be distributed at a variety of locations during ceremonies.
