Petrol-Diesel Price Update (13 April 2025): Crude oil prices have dropped sharply over the past two weeks, bringing some much-needed relief on the global energy front. In just 14 days, crude oil has become cheaper by around $10 per barrel—roughly Rs 860. Last week saw a $4 drop, followed by another $6 decline this week. At present, crude is trading close to $60 per barrel.

What’s happening in the Crude Oil Market?
On Friday, crude oil prices in the futures market saw a slight rise—going up by Rs 66 to Rs 5,235 per barrel—thanks to strong demand in the spot market. Traders have been actively placing bigger bets, which pushed prices higher in futures trading. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), April delivery crude climbed 1.28 per cent, with over 12,000 lots traded.
Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose by 1.17% to $60.77 per barrel, while Brent crude also saw a 1.14% increase, trading at $64.05 per barrel.
