PSG eventually prevailed on aggregate after they blew a two-goal lead in the second leg to lose 3-2, having led through Achraf Hakimi and Mendes before Youri Tielemans, John McGinn and Ezri Konsa completed Villa’s home win.
Arsenal 5-1 Real Madrid
Declan Rice’s second-half brace plus Mikel Merino’s effort fired Arsenal to a clinical 3-0 first leg victory at home over the reigning champions.
Real Madrid’s title defence ultimately came to an end with a 2-1 loss at home in the second leg, after Vinicius Junior cancelled out Bukayo Saka’s opener only for Gabriel Martinelli to net a 93rd-minute winner for the Gunners on a counter-attack.
Barcelona 5-3 Borussia Dortmund
Robert Lewandowski’s brace plus goals from Raphinha and Lamine Yamal saw Barcelona cruise to a dominant 4-0 first leg victory at home over last season’s runner-up.
Serhou Guirassy’s second-leg hattrick saw Dortmund clinch a second-leg victory at home by a 3-1 result, as Ramy Bensebaini’s own-goal saw Barcelona secure their semi-final spot.
Inter Milan 4-3 Bayern Munich
Davide Frattesi’s 88th-minute goal gave Inter Milan a surprise 2-1 first-leg victory away at Bayern Munich, after Lautaro Martinez’s opening goal had been cancelled out by Thomas Muller.
Bayern Munich ultimately couldn’t overturn their deficit in the return leg as they battled to a 2-2 draw in which Harry Kane put them in front before Martinez and ex Bayern star – Benjamin Pavard put Inter ahead before Eric Dier salvaged a draw as the Italian club prevailed on aggregate.
