Bournemouth meet Manchester City in the concluding tie of the 2024-25 FA Cup Quarter-Finals.
Victory would see Bournemouth reach the semi-finals for the first time in their history, whilst Man City chase a seventh consecutive appearance in the final four of this competition.

Stat Attack
- This is Bournemouth’s first FA Cup meeting against Manchester City.
- Man City are making their first domestic cup visit to Bournemouth, although City did beat the Cherries 2-1 at home in 2020-21 Carabao Cup in the Third Round of that season’s competition.
- Bournemouth are looking to claim consecutive victories over Man City in all competitions for the first time, having claimed their first win in their league meeting earlier this season at home by 2-1 result in November 2024.
- Antoine Semenyo has scored in two of Bournemouth’s three FA Cup matches this season, only failing to do so in their fifth-round win over Wolves on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
- Kevin De Bruyne has scored in both of Man City’s last two FA Cup matches (W2).
Prediction
Excluding their win on penalties over Wolves in the fifth round following a 1-1 draw, Bournemouth are winless in their last five games across 90 minutes and were simply wasteful in their league defeat to Brentford so I hope that they have used the international break to reset and can bring a polished end product.
Man City meanwhile saw their Premier League title defence begin its unravelling at this very ground in November so will be wary especially after their recent inconsistency, which makes them slightly unpredictable to call here but they do have the quality to get the win and keep their sole trophy dream of this season alive.
Andoni Iraola’s Cherries though will view this as like a free hit as underdogs and if they can dig in defensively but continue to play with their usual high intensity on the flanks, I can see them grinding this out to extra time but City’s depth should drag them through.
Prediction: Bournemouth 1-2 (AET) Man City
