Rogers has a new deal hidden in its fine print that can help you save some money on a smartwatch or a tablet with a data plan for two years.
To take advantage of the deal, you need to get a specific Rogers ‘Infinite’ plan and finance a tablet or smartwatch from the carrier.
The $60/150 GB plan is the cheapest option, so I’d recommend it. It includes Canada/U.S. data, as well as 1,000 long-distance minutes and all the other standard smartphone plan features. There are ‘Infinite’ plans with lower prices, but they don’t include the smartwatch/tablet bill credits.
Then you need to decide if you want to finance a tablet or a smartwatch. Right now Rogers has the Apple Watch Series 10 (alumnium) down to $20 per month. The Galaxy Watch 7 is also this price, but most of the others are more expensive. The tablets are more expensive, with the Galaxy Tab S9 FE down to $31 per month on finacing. iPads are even more costly.
To be clear, the smartwatch or tablet you add to the plan is not free. You still need to finance the device over 24 months, but once you start, you can connect your new device to your smartphone plan for free and use your mobile data without a hotspot. Typically, this would cost $15 per month, so Rogers waives that $15 fee with this deal.
Rogers’ fine print says, “This offer is available to customers activating a new line, completing a Price Plan Change or performing a hardware upgrade on non-discounted, consumer, in-market, Infinite Extra plan or above.”
