The launch of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has been postponed, with no official date confirmed by the company yet. While earlier reports suggested a potential unveiling on May 13, reliable industry insider Ice Universe now claims the release has been pushed to the end of May, but only for select markets.
According to a new leak shared by Ice Universe on Weibo, Samsung plans to roll out the Galaxy S25 Edge exclusively in South Korea and China as part of a limited regional launch. Samsung has chosen this approach to gain market understanding about customer demand and prospective performance before expanding globally.
The Galaxy S25 Edge might bypass its own launch event which signifies Samsung is adopting a secretive product announcement method. The launch of the Galaxy Z Fold SE followed a similar pattern as it entered South Korean markets before was publicly released as W25 in China.
Additional information about the decision was provided through another source who engaged with Ice Universe’s post. Reports suggest that Samsung is directing its initial marketing resources towards Chinese consumers together with its national market, South Korea.
Early availability restrictions exist for a particular phone but indicators suggest its release may expand in upcoming months. A European retailer displayed Galaxy S25 Edge pricing even though the phone still has not been officially released in Italy but this suggests further European launches during upcoming months. However, fans in Europe may have to wait until June or later for the slim flagship to hit store shelves.
Pricing and Expectations
While excitement around the device is growing, its premium price point could pose challenges. The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to retail at €1,362 for the 256GB variant and €1,488 for the 512GB version in Europe.
Samsung’s calculated launch strategy and premium pricing suggest the company is testing the waters with this new variant before committing to a global push.
