Samsung has announced the release of its 2025 lineup of OLED TVs, boasting an impressive array of upgrades, including advanced picture processing, improved glare-free technology, and a significant boost in brightness.

The main differences between the S95F and its lower-priced siblings in the series (S90F and S85F) are that the S95F has quantum dot tech, plus a glare-free matte finish, a 165Hz refresh rate (compared to 144Hz or less), and it’s the only new release compatible with the Samsung One Connect Box.
Another difference is screen size, which ranges from 55 to 83 inches, except that the S90F comes in two smaller sizes (42″ and 48″).
The most significant difference is marked by one year of technological advancement. At the heart of the S95F is Samsung’s third-generation NQ4 AI video processor. This means, and pardon my mixed anatomical metaphor, the brain of the S95F has over six times as many neural networks as its 2024 predecessor (128 vs. 20). Neural networks, in new AI TV-speak, handle things like upscaling lower-resolution content, noise reduction, motion smoothing, and color accuracy.
For overall quality and performance, ZDNET’s Editor-In-Chief, Jason Hiner, declared last year’s S95D to be the winner of 2024’s TV reveals at CES, and arguably the best TV available in the world at that time. In addition to the better processor I mentioned above, the S95F comes with several advancements over last year’s flagship.
The S95F’s luminescence, for example, is significantly improved over the S95D, with 2,000 nits of peak brightness representing about a 22% increase. At the same time, Samsung’s 2.0 Glare-Free technology virtually eliminates reflections from overhead lighting, floor lamps, and other sources.

This second-generation anti-glare coating builds upon the technology introduced in last year’s S95D, addressing the issue of elevated black levels when viewing in bright rooms. This technology aims to keep blacks “pitch-black” despite ambient lighting concerns while each pixel pops against a dark background.
However, it’s the new AI features that sweeten the deal for the S95F. “Click to Search” offers a chance to identify onscreen products without pausing the action and “Live Translate” translates foreign language live programming in real-time (currently for up to seven languages). Users with a Galaxy Watch can even control the TVs using the “Universal Gestures” feature, such as rotating the watch bezel to scroll or making a fist to go back to a prior screen.
Other AI-enhanced smart features include:
- Samsung Food, which identifies food on-screen and suggests recipes or delivery options.
- Home Insights, which sends live safety alerts to your phone, helping you keep an eye on things remotely.
- Pet and Family Care, which monitors for strange noises or movements and tweaks room settings for pet and family comfort.
As is becoming standard, the new Samsung series offers multiple family member profiles. Much less standard, but uniquely awesome, each Samsung TV is eligible for up to seven years of software updates.

The prices for these models start at $1,300 for the 42-inch S85F and go up to $4,499 for the 77-inch S95F, with other sizes available at various price points in between. The 65-inch panel is selling for $3,399 at Samsung and Best Buy has it competitively priced for about $100 less.
