Eintracht Frankfurt meet Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their 2024-25 UEFA Europa League Quarter-Final tie.
With the tie locked at 1-1 on aggregate after the first leg, victory would see either Eintracht Frankfurt or Tottenham advance to the semi-finals.
Team News
Eintracht Frankfurt have no fresh injury concerns following their 3-0 Bundesliga victory over Heidenheim.
Oscar Højlund and Junior Dina Ebimbe are ineligible, whilst Kevin Trapp (leg), Timothy Chandler (hamstring) and Ansgar Knauff (knee) are still sidelined,
Tottenham will again be without Son Heung Min after the forward missed their 4-2 defeat at Wolves in the Premier League, having picked up a foot injury in the first leg of this tie.
Kevin Danso (hamstring) and Radu Dragusin (ACL) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Eintracht Frankfurt host Tottenham at Waldstadion on Thursday 17 April at 9pm CEST (8pm UK Time), live on TNT Sports 3 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Eintracht Frankfurt drew 1-1 in their only previous Europa League clash against Tottenham.
- Tottenham are making their first Europa League trip to Eintracht Frankfurt, but failed to win in two previous visits across all UEFA competitions (D1, L1).
- Spurs have scored in four of their five previous meetings against Eintracht Frankfurt in all UEFA competitions, except for a 0-0 away draw in October 2022 in the Champions League that season.
- Three of Hugo Ekitike’s four Europa League goals for Eintracht Frankfurt this season were scored at home.
- Tottenham have avoided defeat in three of their five away matches in this season’s Europa League (W2, D1, L2).
Prediction
Having rebounded with a dominantly clinical home win over Heidenheim following a scrappy but clinical first leg in North London where they were outplayed, Eintracht Frankfurt now need to once again dominate with the same quality if want to progress to the semi-final.
Tottenham meanwhile clearly have their eye on this second leg after a lacklustre defensive mess at Wolves with Guglielmo Vicario in particular responsible for two of their conceded goals, so a massive improvement is required if they’re to win this tie.
Eintracht Frankfurt though won’t make things easy with their defensive resilience but if Tottenham can tighten up their own defence, I can see this ending in another draw with Spurs scraping through on penalties.
Prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur (Tottenham to win on penalties)
