Students at Stirling and Edinburgh Universities have been offered a special rate to come support their women’s football teams at the ScottishPower senior finals this weekend in Alloa, as teams from across the country gather in the heart of Scotland for a festival of national finals. The Indodrill stadium, home of the Wasps, plays host to this special Scottish Women’s Football weekender.
On Sunday at noon, Edinburgh University Thistle face Cumbernauld Colts for the ScottishPower Regional League Cup final, followed by Stirling University v Renfrew Ladies in the ScottishPower National League Cup final at 4pm.
Students can attend one match for just £3 or both for £5 as the concession rate, with adult tickets £6 and £10 respectively.
The same rates apply for the Saturday too, where Dunfermline Athletic face Dundee West in the 16s Youth Performance League Cup final at 11:45, followed by Grampian Ladies v Cumbernauld Colts in the ScottishPower Regional League Plate at 3pm.
Commenting, Scottish Women’s Football CEO Aileen Campbell said: “This is a first national league cup final for many of the teams who have earned their place at Alloa this weekend, so they will be looking for a good support to cheer them on. That’s why we have included students in our concession rates to reflect that both Edinburgh and Stirling Universities are represented. It represents great value for any football-daft students out there.”
