Manchester United’s boss, Erik ten Hag remains confident about his future at the club despite rumors of potential sacking following United’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. Ten Hag believes that he has nothing to worry about his future at Old Trafford as the management already decided to keep him this summer following a new deal.
Ten Hag’s Future In Doubt After United’s Loss Against Tottenham
Manchester United suffered another disappointing result on the weekend as they were beaten by Spurs 3-0 at Old Trafford. Goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke didn’t get any reply as United suffered their third defeat already in the Premier League.
That disappointing defeat and their awful performance triggered speculation again regarding Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford. Media in English believe that Man United could be considering parting ways with their manager sometime soon.
However, those rumours didn’t bother the Dutch head coach as he remains confident that Man United’s management are not planning to sack him. The former Ajax Amsterdam boss believes that their agreement in the summer means that everyone at the club including his players still believes in him.
“I’m not thinking about being sacked, not at all. We all made the decision to stay together”. “Ownership, staff, players, myself. We made the decision from a clear review of what we have to do,” Ten Hag said to the media (via Fabrizio Romano).
The tactician remains confident that his side can bounce back again immediately as they have strong quality and mentality. Nevertheless, Ten Hag also issued a warning to his team that they must learn from their mistakes and avoid them in their next matches.
“There is always a new day and we will learn from it. My players are strong characters and we will bounce back. We have to learn from this and quickly,” the coach added. “I told the guys in the dressing room: come on. Tomorrow, a new day. We will bounce back, I’m sure”.
Man United don’t have time to mop around though as they will face another difficult challenge in midweek as they meet up with FC Porto in their Europa League fixture. The Red Devils must bounce back immediately, especially if they do want Ten Hag to remain at the helm.
