The US car maker Tesla apparently stops the delivery of new cybertrucks. Reports on body parts to solve themselves should be the reason. The problems once again raise questions about the quality and security of the futuristic electrical pickup.
Crisis for the “bulletproof” truck
That reports that Online magazine Electrek And has taken up various buyer reports, whose vehicle is now not being delivered for the time being. Addendum dated March 20: Tesla started an official recall and expects almost 50,000 cybertrucks for improvements in the service points in the USA. (via the US traffic safety authority Nhtsa.)
These reports about loose body parts are in a strong contrast to Tesla’s advertising promises of a “bulletproof” vehicle that advertises with a robust “exoskeleton” construction. In fact, the structure of the cyber truck is more like a conventional unibody structure, in which many visible body parts are only installed as cladding on the main construction. It is also worrying that some of these cladding parts are apparently only attached to adhesive.
An image of a mesh front panel of cybertruck, which is currently circulating on social media, raises additional doubts about the quality and safety of the vehicle. At least eight potential buyers have reported delays in their vehicle handover on social media and online forums. A concerned customer shared a screenshot of a conversation with a Tesla service employee who indicates problems with the “Cantrail cladding”-a decorative power part that runs along the roof edge of the cybertruck.
Components flown-while driving
Another example is the cybertruck owner Reid Tomasko, who published video material, which shows how the said component detached from his vehicle while driving. He reported “five to seven” other cybertrucks that had similar problems.

Call history and ongoing measures
This is not the first time that Tesla is confronted with processing problems in cybertruck. In June 2024, the company had to call back around 11,000 vehicles due to similar problems, including solving the loading area cladding. Here, too, a problem with the adhesive used was given as the cause.
There is also criticism of the choice of stainless steel. So far, Tesla has not announced official recalls for the newly known problems, but the delays in the deliveries indicate that the company takes the situation seriously and wants to minimize potential security risks before other vehicles are handed over to customers.
