For the second consecutive year, Juan Soto is starting his season for a New York team against the Houston Astros. This time he’ll be representing Flushing as a Met rather than the Bronx as a Yankee, as he embarks on the first campaign of his historic 15-year, $765 million contract. With a massive amount of money and time now invested in him, the 26-year-old gave Mets fans a promise to be excited about ahead of 2025 Opening Day.
“I’m in the middle of my prime,” Soto told Tim Healy of Newsday. “The best is coming. We have a long way to go, but I feel like the best Juan Soto has to come in the next couple of years.”
