Five people, including three civilians and two firefighters, were injured in a four-alarm fire at an apartment building in the Bronx, New York, on Sunday, April 20.
The New York Fire Department (FDNY) said about 180 fire and EMS personnel responded to 345 Cypress Avenue at approximately 2:20 pm.
“Our units arrived in three minutes and 45 seconds,” the FDNY said.
“This building is a six story, non fireproof multiple dwelling with seven apartments per floor. Upon arrival, we found heavy fire in an apartment on the sixth floor with extension to the cockloft space,” said Chief of Operations Kevin Woods.
As of Sunday evening, FDNY Fire Marshals were working to determine what caused the fire.
