Varun Chakaravarthy breaches Glenn Maxwell & Josh Inglis’ gates, joins Purple Cap race in IPL 2025

Varun Chakaravarthy has built on his incredible form. The Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) mystery spinner absolutely spun a web around the Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter. The Shreyas Iyer-led side were already struggling, having lost 2 wickets by the time KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane introduced him in the 5th over of the match.

Chakaravarthy would have taken 8 wickets in the last 6 matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, claimed the wicket of Josh Inglis on his fifth ball. It was short ball that Maxwell looked to play on the front foot but he couldn’t have accounted for the fact that the ball would come in so much. A peach of a delivery and there was nothing Maxwell could do about it.
