Stat Attack
- Everton are winless in their last 15 league meetings against Man City (D3, L12).
- Man City have won each of their last seven league visits to Everton (W7).
- Everton have conceded three goals in five of their last seven home games against Man City.
- Coming into this matchweek, no English player has produced more blocks this season than Everton’s James Tarkowski (42).
- Man City have won just one of their last four away games in the top-flight (W1, D1, L2).
Prediction
With nothing to play for in this run=in now survival is virtually assured, Everton definitely played with no fear in a clinical display at Forest and I expect more of the same because they will need to be well defensively organised once more if want to keep City quiet.
City though really should of lost to Palace if not for the Eagles’ defensive implosion at 2-0 up which allowed the Cityzens to clinically crank up the gears and ultimately dominate from the half-hour mark onwards, although I don’t expect that to happen here against a well-organised Everton defence so patience will be key.
In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if Everton can dig in and snatch a point just like they did on Boxing Day earlier this season, particularly if City’s focus is on a crucial home clash against Aston Villa on Tuesday.
Prediction: Everton 1-1 Man City
