Hull City continue their fight for Championship survival against play-off chasing Coventry City.
Victory will lift Hull up to 18th in the table, whilst Coventry can go fifth with a win.
Team News
Gustavo Puerta is a doubt for Hull after he missed their defeat at Watford due to a stomach issue which required hospital treatment.
Louie Barry (knee), Mohamed Belloumi, Eliot Matazo, Liam Millar (all ACL) and Oscar Zambrano (personal) remain absent.
Coventry could be without midfielder, Victor Torp after he suffered an ankle injury during their midweek victory over Portsmouth.
Oliver Dovin (ACL), Josh Eccles (calf) and Brandon Thomas-Asante (pelvis) are still sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Hull host Coventry at MKM Stadium on Monday 14 April at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports Football in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Hull are unbeaten in five of their last six meetings against Coventry (W3, D2, L1).
- Coventry have lost one of their last five visits to Hull (W2, D2, L1).
- Victory would see Coventry achieve a first league double over Hull since 2006-07 season.
- Hull’s last three matches have all ended in 1-0 results, of which the Tigers won just one of those three games (W1, L2).
- Jack Rudoni has scored in each of his last two away appearances for Coventry.
Prediction
Although their recent games have been settled by narrow margins, Hull simply didn’t take their chances clinically enough in two of those games so a huge improvement is needed if want to move away from the relegation battle.
Coventry meanwhile can go into the Easter double-header with slightly less pressure in terms of their play-off push if can open a five-point gap to those sat in seventh, eighth and ninth positions, but they can take heart from how they stay composed in the face of frustrations to eventually beat Portsmouth.
If Hull do make an improvement and can score first then I will expect a tougher test for Coventry but I just can’t see the Sky Blues losing this if they play their best football, especially after they managed a first clean sheet since the international break.
Prediction: Hull 0-1 Coventry
