Wrexham continue their push for automatic promotion against relegation-battling Bristol Rovers in a massive League One showdown.
Victory would see Wrexham stay second in the table, whilst Bristol Rovers can climb out of the relegation zone if better Burton Albion’s result.
Team News
Mo Faal is a doubt for Wrexham after he suffered a thigh injury during training.
Andy Cannon (ACL) and Luke Bolton (calf) remain absent.
Bristol Rovers have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 2-1 loss to Exeter City last weekend.
Kamil Conteh (foot), Chris Martin (knee) and Promise Omochere (hamstring) remain ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Wrexham host Bristol Rovers at the Racecourse Ground on Good Friday 18 April at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Wrexham have lost just one of their last five meetings against Bristol Rovers (W3, D1, L1).
- Bristol Rovers are winless in their last 13 visits to Wrexham (D2, L11).
- Wrexham have kept clean sheets in three of their last four home games against Bristol Rovers.
- Ryan Longman has provided assists in two of Wrexham’s last three matches, of which his two assists both came for Sam Smith’s goals against Cambridge and Burton Albion respectively.
- Three of Bristol Rovers’ last four defeats were by 2-1 results, albeit at home on those three occasions.
Prediction
Unbeaten in their last six matches, Wrexham have to view this as an absolute must-win if want automatic promotion again because their final three games feel like banana skins, but they first need to be more clinical here than they were in their goalless draw at Wigan.
Bristol Rovers on the other hand are on a six-match losing streak and without an away win since January so need a huge performance if they are to stand any chance of survival, yet have drawn blanks in their last four on the road so they realistically need to score first otherwise this will be a difficult ask.
In fact I just can’t see Wrexham losing this if they turn up and can just show more composure in the final touches.
Prediction: Wrexham 2-0 Bristol Rovers
