The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh administration on Wednesday announced a special initiative, called Price Support Scheme (PSS), enabling farmers in the state to sell their stocks of pulses and oilseeds directly to the state authorities from the comfort of their homes. The scheme came into force on April 2 and will continue till June 30.
UP Farmers to Receive Payments Directly in Aadhaar-linked Bank Accounts
Under the ambitious scheme, growers will receive payments against the sale in their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts within three working days, according to an official statement.
Here are 10 things to know about the Yogi government’s Price Support Scheme (PSS):
- The scheme will enable farmers to sell their produce directly to the state government at the minimum support price (MSP), eliminating middlemen or market fluctuations.
- The scheme will enable the state government to procure the commodities, including arhar, chana, masoor and mustard.
- The initiative is aimed at ensuring fair prices for farmers’ produce, in turn boosting their incomes.
- How to register? Farmers can register online via mobile or facilitation centers
- Under the Price Support Scheme (PSS), different districts in Uttar Pradesh have been assigned to two key agencies for crop procurement.

- Food cooperatives NAFED and NCCF will be handling different sectors to procure the pruduce for the government, under the scheme.

- Arhar (Pigeon Pea): Rs 7,550 per quintal
- Chana (Chickpea): Rs 5,650 per quintal
- Masoor (Lentil): Rs 6,700 per quintal
- Sarson (Mustard): Rs 5,950 per quintal
